Protestant Church St. Michael in Ludwigsfelde
The believers in Ludwigsfelde had to visit the churches of neighbouring villages for a long time.
That changed in 1955 when St. Michael was inaugurated. The church was constructed in a style similar to the stable of Bethlehem.
The believers of the two spinning colonies Damsdorf and Ludwigsfelde walked until 1955
to Lwenbruch, Genshagen and Siethen to celebrate their church services there.
After long negotiations the devout community could lay the foundation stone solemnly in1953.
An altarpiece was commissioned and realised by Gerhard Olbrich. The picture consists of 3 elements: the crucifixion is depicted in the centre, on the left side the temptation and on the right the fight of Archangel Michael with the dragon.
The church was then named after the Archangel referring to the divine fight against the unchurched town.
On the 8th of May 1955 the constructing was completed: the church was officially inaugurated by the general superintendent Braun and was finallyopen to the devout community.
