The town Zossen was first recorded in 1320. It is one of the oldest settlements in the  Mark Brandenburg. Today ca 13000 people live in Zossen.

Zossen's surrounding area is especially popular with nature friends because of its many lakes, hills and dips. Nature reserves and expanding pine forests offer great recreational value for guests and local residents.
