Dahlewitz was first recorded in 1305. The then Brandenburg margrave Hermann and his vassal Busso, left their patronage via the church in "villa dolwiz" to the nunnery in Spandau.

The restaurant Wald-Eck was built in the year 1928 along the "Königsweg", one of the historically oldest paths inside Dahlewitz's boundary. It is very popular thanks to its great quality and well known beyond the village. Regular customers, social events and family celebrations keep Family Ladwig busy all year round.

The village name stems from the Slavic and means "Ansiedlung im Tale" (settlement in the valley). Finds confirm the settlement by slaws in the 7th/8th century along the lowlands of the boundaries so also in the  "Lankenschlag", the village west of today's railway line with the  Waldstraße.

Witness to the probably in the 13th century created German settlement is the imposing church made of field-stones at the village green. The church has been listed since 1982.

Monumnents in Dahlewitz is also the estate terrain with park and the water tower at the village centre and the Taut residence in the Wiesenstraße. The Taut residence was projected by the international well-known architect Bruno Taut (1880 - 1938). He lived there only the few years until his emigration in the year 1933.
