Das Leben eines m�rkischen Junkers (The Life of a Markish Squire)12,68 EUR Hans Wichard von Rochow - St�lpe, born on the 25th ofJune 1898 in St�lpe, descended from one of the oldest Markish nobility. After his alumnus time at the Ritterakademie(Knight's Academy) of Brandenburg he served as a cornetat the Royal Prussian 1. Garde-Ulanen-Regiment Potsdam. Later he became one of the youngest officers at the front. After his discharge in 1919 he took over the manors in St�lpe and Plessow. In 1921 he married Irmgard von Gundlach. Four sons resulted from this marriage. He was an active member of the NSDAP until the events around the 30th ofJune 1934 (R�hm affair). In 1937 he bought the manor in Klessen. In the same year he became canon of Brandenburg and curator of the local Knight Academyuntil its closure by the NS-Regime. He entered the Wehrmacht (armed forces) in 1939 as reserve officer. He later returned badly wounded from the cauldron ofStalingrad but he voluntarily reported back to military duty on the front at the end of the war. Rochow died lonely on the 02. (04.) May 1945 in a Markish forest near Summt, north of Berlin.
